Same for any dvd you'd get in a box - that would become useless when the next update come out. Besides any printed manual becomes outdated when a new version of DP drops. I actually asked Magic Dave about the printed manual when DP9 first dropped and he said it became to expensive for MOTU to print the manual. Thanks in advance.There are programs that let you annotate pdf's especially if you have the manual on something like an iPad. Besides, it looks so much cooler sitting on my control desk! Maybe I'm showing my age (49), but there is something so much more satisfying (and efficient) about a bound book over digital pages.

In this day and age of immediate satisfaction (in this case immediate download of the software) is there a way to get DP in a box with the registration number and, more importantly, a printed manual? I hate searching the pages of digital books, not being able to thumb through pages quickly, and all the other benefits of a printed manual. I will simply state DP does well what I need it to do, and until it doesn't there is no reason for me to jump ship (although I am often tempted to try Pro Tools).
